The government has appointed 2015 batch IPS Avinash Pandey as the new SSP of Meerut. He will come from Lucknow SSF Corps and take charge on Thursday. Former SSP Dr. Vipin Tada has been made Joint Commissioner of Police in Kanpur Commissionerate. The suspicious death of Sarita Prakash in Hariharnath police station area has now turned out to be dowry murder. Police have arrested the main accused husband Satyendra Kumar from Patna. The investigation also revealed the involvement of Santosh Kumar Rajak, a police sub-inspector from Muzaffarpur, who has been arrested and sent to jail. The body was thrown at the door of the maternal home. A total of six accused have been arrested, while two women are absconding.
