SC-ST Reservation: Court Seeks Response From Center On Demand To Exclude 'creamy Layer'

The Supreme Court has sought response from the Central Government on petitions seeking to set criteria to exclude the 'creamy layer' of SC-ST from reservation benefits. A woman from Nawabganj had alleged kidnapping and forced removal of eggs, after which the police took action.

Crackdown On Fake Income Certificates In RTE Filings In Ghaziabad, Orders To Investigate 10 Thousand Cases

There is a possibility of large scale fraud in the income certificates being made for admission in private schools under the Right to Education RTE in Ghaziabad. After complaints, District Magistrate Ravindra Maand has ordered investigation of 10 thousand income certificates. Accountants have been asked to go to the spot and verify. If fake certificates are found, a report will be filed against the parents. A committee has also been formed for transparency.
