Efforts To Clean Yamuna Intensified, 12 STPs Upgraded In 9 Months; Capacity Increased To 100 MGD

Sewage treatment plants (STPs) are being upgraded to clean Yamuna river in Delhi. In the last nine months, 12 STPs have been completed, adding capacity by 100 million gallons per day (MGD). Total capacity has increased from 707 MGD to 814 MGD. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa held a review meeting in which it was informed that the remaining upgrades will be completed by 2027 and 13 new DSTPs will be built by 2024.
