The water of Narmada River in Mandleshwar of Khargone is not potable, which is a matter of serious concern. Despite spending crores of rupees and being declared a holy city, the contaminated water of the drains is 4-10 times more polluted than the standards. The levels of BOD, COD and suspended solids are dangerous. Sewage treatment plants are incomplete, due to which dirt is directly entering the river.
