Bhagalpur district has secured the first position in Bihar in providing benefits to mothers under Janani Suraksha Yojana. The district has sent the amount directly to the bank accounts of 3,218 mothers, while IDs of 37,134 beneficiaries have been created. The payments pending since last year were expedited through the efforts of the District Accounts Manager, ensuring payment of ₹1400 in rural areas and ₹1000 in urban areas.

Police have foiled the conspiracy to murder a teacher in Peerpainti, Bhagalpur. Due to the prompt action of Police Station Head Neeraj Kumar, two accused were arrested, from whom a loaded pistol was recovered. SDPO-II Pankaj Kumar said that a contract of Rs 50,000 was given for the murder of a teacher due to a personal dispute. The accused were doing recce of the teacher for three days. The search for the main conspirator continues.

Purnia: Brother Killed Brother By Cutting Him With A Hoe While He Was Sleeping, Reason Not Clear

In Srinagar police station area of Purnia, a cousin killed 16-year-old teenager Rahul Kumar by attacking him with a hoe while he was sleeping. The deceased was the son of Santosh Thakur.
