In Karnataka, a woman along with her lover and his friend killed her husband. She made her husband unconscious by mixing sleeping pills in biryani, then killed him by beating him with a wooden cylinder and strangulating him. Her husband was against her extra marital affair. Following suspicions by the family, police investigation revealed the murder.
Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is launching 'MC One Pass' scheme today. Under this, monthly parking pass will be available for Rs 500 for car and Rs 250 for two-wheeler. There was a strike in banks in Muzaffarpur demanding a five-day working week, due to which check clearing, cash transactions and loan services came to a standstill. The strike, called by the United Forum of Bank Unions, affected business worth more than Rs 100 crore in the district. In Pinjore's Amravati Enclave, a vicious man disguised as a delivery boy entered the woman's house and broke her gold chain. He made the excuse that the wrong parcel had arrived. As soon as he reached the woman's door, he pulled the chain from his neck and fled on the bike with his companion standing outside. A 68-year-old farmer, Bheera, died after being run over by a tractor during the Kisan Tractor Yatra in Jind's Ramrai village on Republic Day. The yatra was being taken out from Ramrai to Gulkani village. He fell under the tractor after his feet slipped and died during treatment in the civil hospital. The yatra was stopped as soon as the news of his death was received.
A school van went out of control and overturned near Bichhiya forest barrier in Katarniaghat forest of Bahraich. 14 students were injured in this accident, out of which the condition of one is critical and he has been admitted to the hospital. The van was carrying students from tribal areas bordering Nepal to school. Other students were sent home after first aid.
An unknown vehicle hit the bike on NH-09 in Babugarh area of Hapur. Wife Rani died in this accident, while husband Puran was seriously injured. The driver fled from the spot.
