Two youths drowned while bathing in the Ganga during a funeral at Betavar Ghat in Varanasi. Police and NDRF team have recovered the body of 15-year-old Harsh Patel, while the search for 19-year-old Ajit Kumar Patel is on. This incident took place under Akhari Chowki of Rohania police station area, due to which there is a wave of mourning in the entire area. The police have appealed to the people to remain alert.

Aided Colleges Will Get Financial Assistance From 'Project Alankar' In UP, Dilapidated Buildings Will Be Renovated

'Project Alankar' in Uttar Pradesh will now provide financial assistance to dilapidated non-government aided secondary schools. Earlier this facility was limited only to government schools. Schools will get Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1.25 crore, depending on student strength, which will go towards building repairs, reconstruction of classrooms and development of infrastructure. The district level committee will examine the proposals, of which 75% of the cost will be borne by the state government.
