Kalam Hawari, an undertrial prisoner of East Champaran jail, died during treatment at SKMCH in Muzaffarpur. 60-year-old Kalam Hawari was in jail since 2022 in an NDPS Act case. He was suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes, due to which he was referred to SKMCH when his health deteriorated. As per rules, the body will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem under the supervision of the magistrate.
Crores of farmers are eagerly waiting for the 22nd installment of PM Kisan Yojana. The Agriculture Ministry has completed preparations for sending the installment. According to sources, Rs 2,000 each can be transferred to the accounts of farmers before Holi. Those farmers whose 21st installment was stopped due to technical reasons, will get Rs 4,000 each with the 22nd installment, which will end their wait.
Sunil Kumar from Amb in Una district of Himachal Pradesh brought glory to the country by winning a silver medal in javelin throw at the Faza World Para Athletics Championship in Dubai. Sunil, 3 feet 4 inches tall, threw the javelin 32.47 meters. He attributed his success to hard work, blessings of parents and guidance of coaches. Inspector Kanhaiya Kumar of Maniyari police station of Muzaffarpur has been suspended by SSP Kantesh Mishra on charges of negligence in investigation. Besides, action has been taken against Mithanpura police station after flaws were found in the surprise inspection. The SSP has given a strict warning to the policemen to remain accountable for their duty and public service, otherwise strict action will be taken.
Inspector of Kurlikote police station Dilip Kumar Choubey has been suspended on charges of demanding bribe in the land dispute case in Kishanganj. SP Santosh Kumar took this action after investigation on the basis of audio clip. A case of extortion has also been registered against the Inspector and departmental action has been initiated. SP has appealed to the citizens to give information about corruption.
In Gorakhpur, the Municipal Corporation has started the construction work of drain on Carmel School Road to improve rain water drainage. Traffic diversion has been implemented till March 10 due to the construction of a cross drain in front of the Regional Stadium. This caused some trouble to people on Tuesday. The traffic department has suggested alternative routes, which include City Mall and Maharana Pratap Murti Tiraha.
