Illegal mining in the name of CO residence has been busted in Chandausi area of Sambhal. SDM and Naib Tehsildar raided Mohammadpur Kasba village of Narauli and seized a dumper and tractor-trolley. Mining permission was taken to fill the soil for the CO's under-construction house, but illegal mining was being done elsewhere. The seized vehicles have been handed over to the police and action is being taken to cancel the permission by informing the Mining Inspector.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to hear the important issue of whether the Enforcement Directorate can file a writ petition in the High Court as a judicial entity under Article 226.
