In Hasanpur police station area of Palwal, a shopkeeper, Rahul, was beaten up for asking for borrowed money and goods and cash were looted from his shop. Rahul had asked for Rs 10,000 from Arjun of the village. The police have registered a case against ten people including Arjun and two women and started investigation. The injured shopkeeper is admitted to the hospital.
The Government of India has appointed Amit Kashyap as a member of the Himachal Pradesh GST Appellate Tribunal. This appointment is for four years, which was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Retired IAS officer Kashyap has served on many important posts including that of Deputy Commissioner, Shimla. This appointment will lead to speedy settlement of tax disputes in the state and will provide relief to taxpayers, which will strengthen the transparent tax system.

Train operations have been badly affected due to dense fog in Ranchi. Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express reached Delhi late by ten and a half hours, due to which the passengers had to struggle with hunger and thirst. Khichdi was provided only once by the Railways, whereas as per rules, arrangements for food and drink have to be made in case of delay. Many other trains including Delhi-Ranchi Garib Rath and Swarna Jayanti Express are also running late by hours. The operation of Santragachi-Ajmer special train has been expanded.
Due to western disturbance, Gorakhpur is experiencing severe cold. The maximum temperature recorded a drop of five degrees Celsius, taking it to 14.8 degrees Celsius and it was declared a 'cold-day'. An incident of rape of an 11 year old girl has come to light in Shivsagar police station area of Rohtas. A harvester driver youth carried out this incident. The girl has been taken to the hospital for treatment. On the complaint of the victim, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused and his interrogation is ongoing. The police are investigating the matter thoroughly.
Bhopal's Raja Bhoj Airport has secured the first position in the country in the National Customer Satisfaction Index for the second consecutive time. Bhopal topped the survey of 58 airports, while Khajuraho Airport also got the first place. Bhopal got 4.99 points due to better facilities to passengers, Digi Yatra, and efficient services. The Airport Director expressed happiness over this achievement.
The new year will start with severe cold and cold wave in North India.
