Uttarakhand: Strict Action Taken Against Ragging In Medical College Of Almora, Punishment Fell On Six Senior Students

Strict action has been taken against six senior students in the ragging case at SSJ Government Medical Sciences and Research Institute, Almora. Four students were fined Rs 25,000, while two were banned from all academic and non-academic activities for six months. The decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the Anti-Ragging Committee following a complaint by junior MBBS students.

Rs 70 Crore Awaiting Treasury Clearance In Jammu And Kashmir, Government Says - 'There Is No Delay From Our Side'

The government acknowledged that payments to thousands of beneficiaries under the Marriage Assistance Scheme are pending. According to the Social Welfare Department, Rs 163.93 crore has been given to 31,524 beneficiaries, while Rs 70.08 crore for 12,777 others is pending with the treasury since October 2025. The department denied any unnecessary delay, saying the payment was under process and awaiting treasury clearance.
