The cases of water borne diseases in Jammu and Kashmir are exceeding one lakh every year. Corruption in government schemes and indifference of departments are the main reasons for this, due to which people's health is being affected. More than 1.3 lakh cases were reported in 2024, of which diarrhea, typhoid and hepatitis are the major ones. Jammu, Srinagar and Shopian are the most affected districts.
