Rudraprayag: The Culprit Who Raped And Impregnated A Minor Was Sentenced To 20 Years Imprisonment And Also Imposed A Fine.

The POCSO court in Rudraprayag has sentenced Sumit Singh to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor and impregnating her. A fine of Rs 5,000 was also imposed on the culprit. Matching the DNA sample of the dead newborn with the culprit became an important evidence for the conviction. The victim gave birth to a dead baby in the district hospital, after which the police registered a case.
