NCERT will release new curriculum-based books for class IX and XI students from the new session 2026-27, which will be available by the end of March. These books prepared under the new education policy focus on skill-based learning, Indian knowledge tradition and inter-disciplinary approach. Bridge courses will also be conducted to help students understand the new curriculum. The evaluation system will also be two-tier, with emphasis on understanding and application.

The body of sub-inspector Ajay Gaur, posted at Parshurampur police station in Basti, was found in the Saryu river on the Ayodhya border.
