NGT Imposes Fine Of Rs 50 Thousand On DPCC On Transfer Of Compensation Fee

National Green Tribunal NGT has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Delhi Pollution Control Committee DPCC. This penalty was imposed due to inordinate delay in transferring the compensation fee to the Forest and Wildlife Department. DPCC had not transferred Rs 8 lakh collected from illegal stone breaking units of Nilothi village, which was to be used for tree plantation. NGT rejected the pretext of DPCC and called it a violation of orders.
