Three gold mines have been identified in the state at Deogarh, Kendujhar and Ghazipur, which have potential reserves of about 1,586 kg of gold. Mines Minister Vibhuti Bhushan Jena said that a high-level meeting has been called on January 3, in which the process of further exploration and auction of these gold blocks will be discussed. This discovery is expected to strengthen the state's economy and increase employment opportunities.

3 Maoists Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Odisha, Reward Of Rs 23 Lakh Announced

An encounter broke out between police and Maoists in Gumma forest near Belghar police station in Kandhamal district of Odisha, in which three Maoists, including a woman cadre, were killed.
