An unknown vehicle hit 18-year-old bike rider Nazim on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Ghaziabad late on Sunday night. Nazim was seriously injured in the accident which took place in front of ABES College and was declared dead in the hospital. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the vehicle that collided.
In the training camp organized by Tanzeem Khuddam Azmin-e-Haj in Kanpur, it was told that pilgrims will not be allowed to cook their own food during Haj. Kanpur Police has arrested Vinod Agarwal from Haryana carrying a reward of Rs 50 thousand. He is the kingpin of selling codeine syrup and drugs. Police have recovered 11.50 lakh bottles of syrup, while 8.50 lakh bottles are yet to be recovered. For this the police will seek custodial remand of Vinod Aggarwal. Eight cases are registered in the case and other accused including his son are absconding.

Railways has decided to restart the Bareilly-Bandikui passenger train, which was closed during the Corona period, from January 30. This train, which is starting after five years, will bring great relief to the passengers and traders. A moving electric car suddenly caught fire on the Meerut-Bulandshahr road in Bulandshahr, due to which the car riders jumped to save their lives. The car was completely burnt to ashes, but there was no loss of life. Meanwhile, a disabled farmer was attacked and injured by a bull in Unchagaon area. The administration has assured to catch the bull.

ANTF Lucknow and GIDA police busted an organized drug smuggling racket in Gorakhpur. Six accused were arrested and drugs worth Rs 2.35 crore, including smack and hydroponic beads, were seized. Eight mobile phones, Rs 1 lakh in cash and two vehicles were also recovered. All the accused have been sent to jail and further investigation is underway.

Jaipur SOG brought former Vice Chancellor of JS University Sukesh Yadav, lodged in Jaipur jail in fake degree case, to the university campus for investigation. Yadav was arrested last year on charges of issuing fake B.Ed degree in Rajasthan teacher recruitment. The Uttar Pradesh government has canceled the recognition of the university. The historical Mangalgarh Fort has been freed from army occupation after 30 years. In Muzaffarnagar, criminal Wasim alias Khatmal, carrying a bounty of Rs 25,000, was arrested after being shot and injured in a police encounter. Wasim, along with his girlfriend, was accused of murdering her husband Salman and was absconding on parole. His associate Imran was also caught during the encounter.
