Kirari-Rithala Drain Project Gets Special Exemption From Tree Protection Act, 84 Trees Coming In Its Path Will No Longer Become A Hindrance.

Delhi Government has given special exemption from Delhi Tree Preservation Act DPTA 1994 for the construction of main drain from Kirari to Rithala. LG VK Saxena exempted 3.2 hectare area from this provision, as the project exceeded the 1 hectare limit. This relaxation has been given in public interest, which will pave the way for transplantation or cutting of 84 trees.

Education And Innovation Hub To Be Built In Narela, Delhi, Budget Increased From Rs 500 To Rs 1300 Crore

Delhi Government is developing Narela as an education and innovation hub. Education Minister Ashish Sood said that the budget of this project has been increased from Rs 500 crore to Rs 1300 crore. Land has been allotted to Delhi Teachers University and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, which will create a total integrated education hub of 160 acres. It will also have state-of-the-art facilities and residential flats, which will increase employment opportunities.

Long distance and local trains are continuously running late in Delhi, due to which passengers have to wait for hours in the harsh cold. Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express left late at 17.30 hours and Champaran Humsafar Express left late at 16.30 hours. Frequent changes in train timings have increased the problems of passengers. Around 70 trains are running late by more than two hours, affecting traffic.

NCB Imphal busted a big international drugs syndicate near the Myanmar border. Two smugglers, Ginkhamlian and Mangboi Simte, were arrested and 7.312 kg of high-grade heroin was seized. This heroin was hidden in 638 soap boxes and was being brought from Haichin in Myanmar through the forest routes of Manipur. The value of the seized heroin is estimated at Rs 15 crore.
