Ranchi Police has arrested Vipin Bihari Tudu, the accused who carried out the fatal attack on jawan Anil Chandra Saha and sent him to jail. The incident took place near Ranchi railway station overbridge, when police arrived on the information of a fight. The accused attacked the soldier with a stick and seriously injured him. The police took the injured jawan to the hospital and later arrested the accused. Concern has been expressed over the increasing incidents of attacks on policemen in the city.

Ranchi Municipal Corporation has started strict action against big defaulters of solid waste user charge. Notices have been issued to 100 establishments for payment of dues from April 2022 to December 2025. Non-payment within seven days from the date of notice will attract penal action under the Jharkhand Municipal Act. Due to non-interlocking work in Ranchi Railway Division, there have been changes in the operation of many trains from December 31 to January 7. Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi Express and Godda-Ranchi Express will now run only up to Namkum station instead of Ranchi. Jharkhand General Kamgar Union held a strong demonstration in Chaibasa demanding minimum wages and providing employment to local labourers. ACB has taken major action in the disproportionate assets case of suspended IAS Vinay Kumar Choubey. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hand over appointment letters to 1,927 candidates successful in the joint competitive examination of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission JSSC today at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi. Two people died and two were seriously injured in a violent clash over a land dispute in Gendra village of Kunda police station area of Chatra district of Jharkhand.
