Risk Of HIV-AIDS Is Highest In 12 Districts Including The Capital, Target To Reach Every Infected Person By 2027

HIV-AIDS continues to spread in Bihar, with cases especially high in 12 districts, including Patna. Last year, more than 1,500 new infections were found in 40 lakh screenings. There are an estimated 1.54 lakh infected in the state, of which 1.06 lakh are on ART. NACO's goal is to ensure identification and treatment of all infected people by 2027 instead of 2030. Media will have to play an important role in spreading awareness and removing misconceptions.

Rigging In Ration Shops In Patna, Clarification From 44, License Of 5 Canceled, FIR Against One

Out of 3040 PDS shops in Patna, 2586 were inspected, in which irregularities were found in 110. Explanations were sought from 44 shopkeepers, licenses of 5 were canceled and FIR was registered against one. The DM directed to take strict action against irregularities, especially those giving less food grains to the beneficiaries. He also ordered investigation of 1.26 lakh doubtful ration cards and prompt disposal of pending applications. Salaries of five inspectors were stopped due to delay in e-KYC.
