Varanasi Police has arrested three close associates of Rs 2000 crore cough syrup smuggling kingpin Shubham Jaiswal from Siddharthnagar near Nepal border. These include Vikas Singh Narve and fake pharmaceutical company operator Akash Pathak, who had a reward of Rs 50,000 each. The third accused is Ankit Srivastava. All three were planning to escape to Nepal.
Cyber thugs defrauded Vinay Gupta, a businessman from Harbansh Mohal of Kanpur, of Rs 21.73 lakh on the pretext of working from home. The fraudsters first gained trust through small tasks and payments, then lured them with profits and made them deposit huge amounts. When trying to withdraw money, more money was demanded on the pretext of credit score. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case and started investigation.
More than 40 thousand rural drinking water schemes are in the final stage under Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttar Pradesh. Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said that now more than 85 rural families are getting pure drinking water from tap, which was only 1.93 in 2019. Work has been completed in Bundelkhand and Vindhya. The cost of operation and maintenance of the schemes will be borne by the state government, and 80 schemes are solar energy based.

Booth level agents of political parties are showing less interest in getting names added to the BLA voter list. On the resignation of State Tax Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Singh posted in Ayodhya, the government has called for a complete report from the State Tax Commissioner. IVRI office assistant Jitendra Kumar was strangled to death in Bareilly. Initially it was declared suicide, but the post mortem report confirmed strangulation. The relatives of the deceased have accused his wife Jyoti of harassment. Police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against the wife and in-laws, which will now be converted into murder. The negligence of the postman has come to light in the case of Aadhar card being found in the well and garbage in Paraspur village of Sitapur. The Superintendent of the Head Post Office has suspended the postman for negligence in delivery work. On the information of villagers, the police had collected Aadhar cards. An investigation was conducted on the instructions of the District Magistrate, in which the postman was found at fault. It is not yet known who threw the Aadhaar cards, investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Bank employees went on strike in 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday demanding five-day banking system. The workers accused the government of violating the agreement and warned that the agitation would be intensified if their demands were not met.
In Kaushambi, a student is confined to her house due to fear of being exposed. Dance teacher Anoop Kumar has been arrested for murdering a teenager by slitting his throat in Kanpur Dehat. Anup told that the deceased Saurabh Pal was blackmailing him about homosexual relations and was continuously asking for money. Fed up with this blackmailing, he called Saurabh and slit his throat with a knife. The police caught the accused and also recovered the knife used in the murder.
During vehicle checking in Kankarkheda, police recovered a bike stolen 39 months ago from Ranibag, Delhi and arrested thief Mohit Dixit. The recovered bike was stolen from Ranibagh, Delhi on 18 September 2022. Mohit also confessed to stealing a scooter from Kankarkheda along with his associate Golu. Police have registered a case and started searching for other accomplices.
Police have registered a case against 40 people, including five named, for stopping villagers from taking away a caged leopard in Malipur, Ambedkar Nagar. The villagers were demanding compensation for the injuries and crop damage caused during the leopard's capture. There is anger among the villagers due to this action. The Agriculture Department is implementing Solar Light Trap Scheme in Lakhimpur to protect farmers from harmful pests. This is part of integrated pest management, which will reduce the use of chemical pesticides. Farmers can buy it for just Rs 204 after getting a subsidy of Rs 75,431 on a trap worth Rs 635. In the first phase, 1500 farmers will get benefits on 'first come, first serve' basis, which will increase crop security and quality.
