Forest Department Makes Major Preparations To Stop Human-elephant Conflict Before Ardh Kumbh, Real-time Monitoring Will Be Done Through Radio Collars
The Forest Department is making major preparations to stop human-elephant conflict before Ardh Kumbh in Haridwar. The elephants will be fitted with radio collars for real-time monitoring to prevent their entry into populated areas. Six radio collars will be installed from May, for which the Wildlife Institute of India will identify the elephants. Additionally, other security plans like digging ditches and solar fencing have also been made to stop the elephants.
