The car of friends returning after celebrating New Year and birthday met with an accident in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. In this tragic accident that took place near Bhootnath on the Kullu-Manali National Highway, three people including two girls died on the spot, while one girl is seriously injured. High speed and uncontrolled vehicle are being said to be the cause of the accident.

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has declared the final result of HAS Competitive Examination-2025. Megha Singh Kanwar of Rajgarh in Sirmaur district has topped. Himachal government has taken a big step to decisively attack drug smugglers. A powerful 'Unified Special Task Force STF' has been created by merging the existing Anti Narcotics Task Force and Special Task Force. This new structure will be under the control of the Home Department and the ADGP will work under the direct supervision of CID. Its objective is to root out drug trafficking, in which intelligence, raids and coordination will be under a single command.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has directed to form a new committee to re-investigate the doctor-patient assault case in IGMC Shimla. He said that misbehavior with patients will not be tolerated, but the safety of doctors will also be ensured. Human behavior and people management courses will be made mandatory for doctors. The Chief Minister also hinted at reconsidering Dr Raghav's dismissal as the doctors have called off the strike.
Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a warning of dense fog in seven districts of Himachal Pradesh. Orange alert is for Bilaspur, while yellow alert is for Una, Mandi, Kangra, Hamirpur, Solan and Sirmaur. After the assurance of Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh, the indefinite strike of resident doctors of Indira Gandhi Medical College IGMC Shimla has ended. Resident Doctors Association RDA expressed confidence in the Chief Minister's promise to conduct a detailed inquiry into the dismissal of Dr. Raghav Narula and cancel the order. With the withdrawal of the strike, the disrupted health services are expected to return to normal, which will provide relief to the patients. RDA will keep an eye on the investigation process.
A case of fraud has been registered against 9 officers and employees including former managing director Vinod Kumar in an old hotel loan case of Kangra Central Co-operative Bank KCCB in Una district. Complainant Yudh Chand Bains has alleged that bank officials tampered with loan records, missing important documents and deliberately undervalued his property, causing financial loss to him. The loan was wrongly declared as NPA. Police is investigating.
The villagers of Jawali have expressed anger against the increasing illegal activities in the Pong Dam Wildlife Sanctuary and cruelty against the helpless cattle. He has sent a letter to Chief Minister Sukhu through the Sub-Divisional Officer, demanding strict action against the land mafia and poachers. Villagers said that hunters are using explosive materials and poisonous grains, due to which cows are dying. They have warned that if action is not taken soon they will protest.
Major action has been taken against violation of Motor Vehicles Act in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate imposed a total fine of Rs 7,66,650 on eight habitual motorists. Rohit Arora fined over Rs 3 lakh for 101 challans. The driving licenses of the culprits have been disqualified for 3 to 6 months.
There was a fatal attack on the driver-conductor of HRTC bus in Kharahan of Rampur Bushahr. A drunk man forcibly stopped the bus and tried to kill the driver with an axe. A dispute had started regarding removing the vehicle from the road. Himachal Transport Mazdoor Sangh protested and decided not to run buses on the Rampur-Kholighat route until the accused is arrested. The police have registered the case.
108 and 102 ambulance employees are on strike in Himachal Pradesh, causing problems to patients and pregnant women. In Ghumarwin, Bilaspur, an ambulance driver drove away with the keys, on which a police complaint was registered. The union claims that only 13 ambulances are running. The employees are alleging violation of labor laws and harassment. This is a 48-hour strike, which has affected health services.
The Government of India has appointed Amit Kashyap as a member of the Himachal Pradesh GST Appellate Tribunal. This appointment is for four years, which was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Retired IAS officer Kashyap has served on many important posts including that of Deputy Commissioner, Shimla. Resident doctors of Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla have announced to go on indefinite strike from 27 December 2025. A young man broke the age-old tradition in Kullu's Bijli Mahadev Temple. Opened the closed doors of the temple and beat up the watchman when he stopped them. Detailed oscillation trial of NG power car will be conducted on Kalka-Shimla narrow gauge section. This trial will take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. According to railway officials, the testing is being done after modifications have been made to the luggage and guard compartments of the power car. During the trial the train will run at a speed of 28 km per hour. After the success of this test, there will be technical improvement in the operation of narrow gauge trains.
