ED has conducted raids in many states including Bihar, UP in search of Raghavendra Shukla, the mastermind of the fake recruitment scam in Railways. Shukla absconded during the raid in Fulhar village of Gorakhpur, but ED is investigating his assets and connections. This scam is said to be worth Rs 2000 crore, which was revealed after the arrest of fake TTE last year.
After failing to rob a passenger coming from Gorakhpur by Intercity Express, miscreants pushed him from a moving train near Turtipar station in Deoria. Prabhat Ranjan Mishra, resident of Dhakpura of Lar police station area, was seriously injured and has been admitted to Bhagalpur PHC. This is the third such incident on this railway section, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear among the passengers.
Noida Authority launched a special campaign against the land mafia and demolished illegal encroachments. Three teams took action in Bhangel Begumpur, Suthiyana and Soharkha Zahidabad. The authority freed more than 83,000 square meters of land from encroachment, the market value of which is more than Rs 830 crore. Such campaigns will continue in future also, and 527 notices have been issued.
The authority swung into action following complaints of contaminated water supply in Delta One sector of Greater Noida. ACEO Sunil Kumar Singh himself went to the spot and interrogated the people. The leakage has been fixed and water samples have been sent for testing. The authority has also issued mobile numbers for complaints. The CEO has ordered random testing of water across Greater Noida.
Bisrakh police has busted a fake call center running in Gaur City Center of Greater Noida. Eight people, including B.Com pass Divyang Sonal, the leader of this gang that cheated people through online gaming apps, have been arrested, including five women. The call center was active for six months and also operated from Delhi. Police have recovered 18 mobiles, 4 laptops and Rs 45 thousand in cash and other items.
Re-verification campaign will be conducted to remove duplicate voters from the voter list for the three-tier Panchayat elections in Kanpur city. The State Election Commission has fixed the date of publication of the final list as March 28. Now the verification of 5.17 lakh potential duplicate voters will be done by February 20, after which the names will be added by March 16. BLOs will conduct door-to-door checks so that an error-free list can be prepared.

The Noida Authority is constructing two underpasses on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. For this, permission has been given to cut 330 trees, out of which 265 trees will be transplanted. Apartment Owners Association AOA alleges that builders have installed low capacity STPs in violation of rules, due to which sewage is not being treated completely. Complaints have been registered in societies like Gaur Cascades and Aditya World City about STPs being below capacity, thereby violating environmental norms.
Two youths got diesel filled at a petrol pump in Karhaida, Sahibabad, but refused to pay. When they asked for money, they beat up the employees and injured them by attacking them with a sharp object. Police reached the spot after receiving information and arrested both the drunk accused and seized their car. The victim employee had filed a case.
A case of theft of Rs 10 lakh from a person on the pretext of exchanging foreign currency has come to light in Sector 20 police station area of Noida. Police have arrested the accused Shikhar Khurana. The accused had stolen money from the car of victim Sachin Rangi near DLF Mall. Police have recovered Rs 4.60 lakh in cash and other items, while Rs 2 lakh have been frozen in the bank account. The accused is a vicious thug.

The Joint Entrance Examination Council in Uttar Pradesh has declared the complete schedule of Polytechnic Entrance Examination for 2026. Online applications will run from January 15 to April 30, while the exam will be held between May 15 and 22. The result will be out on May 30 and counseling will run from June 5 to July 15. The academic session will start from 1st August 2026. There will be admissions for about 2.3 lakh seats.

The second semester examination for the academic session 2025-26 will be held between January 24 and 31 in council and recognized schools run by the Basic Education Council.
