Winter Shivered: Monday Was The Coldest Day Of The Season, Know The Alert Issued By The Meteorological Department.

There was severe cold in Varanasi on New Year, Monday was the coldest day of the season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.5°C, which was 2.4°C below normal. Westerly winds and fog increased the melting. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert that severe cold will continue till January 8, melting may increase further due to western disturbance.

In Varanasi, cyber thugs withdrew Rs 40 lakh from the bank account of Kailash Bhawan resident Gopal Prasad. The thugs had also hacked his mobile and changed the email linked to his bank account, due to which he did not get the information on time. This amount was withdrawn several times from the Lanka branch account of State Bank of India on 22, 23 and 29 December. The police have registered a case in the cyber crime police station.
