Split In NCP Over Alliance With Jamaat Before Bangladesh Elections, 30 Party Leaders Protest
Before the February elections in Bangladesh, there has been an internal split in the National Citizen Party (NCP) over the proposed alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami. 30 leaders protested, while two senior members resigned. NCP leader Tasneem Zara announced to contest the elections as an independent candidate. Meanwhile, Indian-American MP Ro Khanna has condemned the murder of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh and urged protection of minorities.
