Security arrangements have been tightened for President Draupadi Murmu's visit to Jamshedpur on December 29. Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan have been turned into impregnable fortresses, with additional police forces called in from neighboring districts as well. Netherlands-based organization Stichting Friis Wind.nu has accused Tata Steel of damaging the environment and has demanded damages of 1.4 billion euros, approximately Rs 12,600 crore. A massive fire broke out in a garbage warehouse in New Bank Colony, Saraidhela, Dhanbad. The fire could be controlled after about five hours of effort. Due to narrow roads, big fire vehicles could not reach the spot, which caused difficulty in extinguishing the fire. However, there were no casualties in the incident. The warehouse was located in a densely populated area.
A serious case of illegal occupation of Takiyadar's room has come to light in Rangatand cemetery of Dhanbad. According to the complainants, some people forcibly grabbed the room and gave it on rent. When the local people protested, they received abuses and death threats. There is also an allegation of embezzlement of cemetery funds. The police is investigating the matter
NIT Jamshedpur researcher Wasim Akram has developed a green power plant model. This technology will extract only steam instead of carbon dioxide from the chimneys of the power plant. By using pre-combustion carbon capture and storage CCS, it will reduce air pollution and also generate income for industries from the captured carbon. Due to development works in Adra division of South Eastern Railway, changes have been made in the operation of many trains from 30 December to 4 January 2026. 10 trains will remain cancelled, while 10 trains will be partially canceled or short terminated. There has also been a change in the timings of 4 trains. Thousands of passengers from Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal will be affected by this.

Train operations have been badly affected due to dense fog in Ranchi. There will be water shortage in Ranchi for the next two days. The Drinking Water and Sanitation Department has taken shutdown for pipeline shifting under Sirmtoli flyover project and for repairs and cleaning at Rukka plant. Water supply will be disrupted in many major areas of the city on Friday and Saturday, affecting more than eight lakh population. Railway Board has implemented new stringent rules for 'Train on Demand' special trains. After February 28 next year, the approval given by the board for these trains will automatically expire. In Senha block of Lohardaga district, Panchayat Secretary Surendra Gupta was arrested by the ACB team while taking a bribe of Rs 15000.
