This is against the rules and all such deputations have been asked to be canceled immediately. Irregular deputations have come to light in many districts including Dhanbad, causing panic in the health department.
Hearing on RIMS cleanliness tender dispute was held in Ranchi High Court. M/s Annapurna Utility Service alleged that their 10 years of work was wrongly given to another company. The defendant company sought time to present the documents, after which the court has fixed the next hearing on March 23. This matter raises questions on the tender process of RIMS administration.

The budget session of Jharkhand Assembly will start from 18th February and continue till 19th March. The session will formally begin with the Governor's address. Seven companies including SBI have filled the tender for health insurance of state employees in Jharkhand, from which better coverage is expected. In the new system, payment will be made at CGHS rates and treatment will be available in reputed hospitals. Also, under the Chief Minister Critical Illness Treatment Scheme, financial assistance of Rs 5 to 20 lakh has been approved for 21 patients for serious diseases like cancer and kidney transplant.

Two minor girls, fictitious names Reema and Richa, went missing on 12 February 2026 from Home House Children's Home in Saraidhela, Dhanbad. The institute management said that she left the campus without informing at around 6:27 pm. He is under 16 years of age. Saraidhela police and Child Welfare Committee have been informed, and police are searching for them in Dhanbad and Asansol areas.
On Monday evening, the operation of trains was disrupted on the Mahuamilan-Nidra section of Dhanbad Railway Division after an elephant came on the railway track. Trains remained halted for several hours, after which the railway administration changed the routes of 9 trains. These included many major trains including Shaktipunj Express, which were run through alternative routes.
National Testing Agency declared the results of JEE Main Session 1. Around 900 students from Dhanbad appeared for the exam, out of which more than 400 were successful. Tanmay Tanay brought glory to the district by securing 99.94 percentile and Abhinav Kumar secured 99.73 percentile. There are around 200 students who scored above 90 percentile, while there are 15 students who scored above 99 percentile. Many students will appear in the second phase examination in April.
The Supreme Court has upheld the Jharkhand High Court order regularizing the services of Moti Ram, a daily wage gardener of the Deoghar Marketing Board. Moti Ram, who has been working for 24 years at Rs 51 per day, had filed a petition for regularization. Rejecting the appeal of the Marketing Board, the Supreme Court used Article 136 of the Constitution, due to which Moti Ram got justice and his job was confirmed.
Rambali Rajwar was brutally beaten on suspicion of being a child lifter in Piparwar, Ranchi, due to which he died. The post mortem report has confirmed serious injuries on the head and chest. The police took him to the hospital, but he died during treatment. Police are investigating the incident and have appealed to villagers to avoid rumours.
Former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has demanded action from the Enforcement Directorate ED on illegal trade of sand in Jharkhand. He stressed the need for a massive movement against this loot. The special court of Ranchi has rejected the bail plea of Maoist Kuldeep Ganjhu alias Badal, who became a government witness in the case of attack on former MLA Gurucharan Nayak. The court clarified that under the provisions of the law, the government witness will have to remain in custody till the conclusion of the trial. Kuldeep had expressed his desire to become a government witness in June 2023 and his testimony was completed in August 2023. This attack took place on 4 January 2022 in West Singhbhum.
Operations on the Barkakana-Barwadih railway section came to a standstill after the death of a baby elephant by a train near Nindra station in Latehar.
