Degree colleges will start from the new session in four blocks of Muzaffarpur, Aurai, Bochahan, Muraul and Gaighat. The education department has started the process. Till the construction of their buildings, these colleges will operate in 23 schools of the respective blocks. Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited BSEIDC has provided the list of schools. There is a proposal to start classes from July 1, which will benefit the blocks without colleges.
The Government of Bihar and the Gates Foundation have renewed their partnership for technical cooperation in health, nutrition, agriculture and rural development for the next five years. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha told in Bihar Assembly that the Revenue and Land Reforms Department has launched a mega campaign to resolve land disputes. Due to public dialogue, digital system and strictness, the pending cases have reduced. 40 lakh applications have been processed so far, and the target is to dispose of 46 lakh applications by 31 March 2031. Bihar School Examination Board's Inter Annual Examination 2026 has been completed. More than 13.17 lakh candidates appeared in the examination which was held from 2 to 13 February. During this period, 71 candidates were expelled on charges of misconduct, while 14 fake candidates were caught. Maximum 27 evictions took place in Nawada. This time there has been a decrease in cases of malpractice as compared to previous years. The evaluation work will start from 27th February.
Documents of cash transactions worth Rs 101 crore have been found in the Income Tax Department's raid on Panorama Group. This payment was made by 400 people who had purchased property from the group. The police team that had gone to arrest wanted liquor businessman Prakash Sah was attacked at Jhauri Raja Chowk in Laukhi. Women and anti-social elements surrounded the police and created a scuffle, due to which Laukahi police station incharge got injured. The Electricity Department has increased strictness to stop electricity theft in Motihari, East Champaran. Continuous raids are being conducted against those who bypass smart meters and use illegal electricity.
