A speeding truck crushed tractor driver Govind Shah, 22, near Panchfedwa on Bagaha-Bettiah NH-727 late Tuesday night. Seriously injured Govind was referred to Bettiah from the sub-divisional hospital, but he died on the way. He was reloading the sugarcane trolley after it overturned. Police are investigating the matter and the search for the absconding truck driver is ongoing.

In Muzaffarpur, an FIR has been registered against four officers including the then Excise Superintendent, DSP East, Sakra police station in-charge for auctioning the Scorpio seized with liquor despite the court order.
