In Ward-10 of Wazirganj, a young man, fed up with his wife's harassment, attempted suicide. Manoj Mishra, who had a love marriage six years ago, alleged that his wife was mentally harassing him by continuously filing cases. The police are also accused of not listening. He has been referred to the Higher Center in critical condition.
An uncontrolled container wreaked havoc in Sahjanwa, Gorakhpur on Monday night. The driver hit multiple vehicles, injuring six people, two of whom were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. After the incident, the driver fled leaving the container in Gida. Police are investigating the matter, but no complaint has been received yet.
Ghaziabad is once again at the top among the most polluted cities of the country. The air quality index AQI 337 was recorded from poor category on Monday to very poor category on Tuesday. Despite all efforts, pollution is not improving, due to which questions are being raised on the functioning of the responsible departments. Eight of the 16-member ship's crew arrested in Iran on January 6 have been released, but Indian engineer Ketan Mehta is still in custody. The first test run of Kanpur Metro from Central Station to Naubasta will start today. This will be on the up line, after which the down line trial will take place 20 days later. This route will open for passengers from the first week of April, due to which the 40-minute journey from Naubasta to Central will be completed in just 13 minutes. This will make transportation easier between the northern, central and southern parts of the city.
A dense forest is being developed on 16 acres at the Kuberpur Landfill site in Agra. The Municipal Corporation has reclaimed 47 acres of land and planted saplings on 10 acres using Miyawaki method. NGT heard on waste management and air pollution, after which the Municipal Corporation claimed other facilities including Waste to Energy Plant. Treatment of old waste is continuing and instructions have been given for the care of plants.
Due to cable fault in Noida Sector-15 on Tuesday, water supply was completely disrupted, causing immense trouble to the residents. Water crisis deepened in the entire sector due to non-operation of motor vehicles. The elderly, children and working people suffered the most, many had to buy bottled water. The supply was restored after the fault was rectified late in the night. Residents have demanded the Noida Authority to arrange for permanent generators to avoid such problems in future.
Ghaziabad Police has arrested 23 drug smugglers in January under 'Operation Prahar'. In this operation, Rs 59.15 lakh in cash and 10 illegal pistols were recovered from two women smugglers. Police also seized a total of 98.50 kg ganja, 2.20 kg opium and 570 Alprazolam tablets. This action is continuing against criminals and drug smugglers.

On an average, 120 dog and monkey bite cases are being reported every day in Hapur's Garh Road CHC, of which 35 are children. From April 2025 till now, 16887 anti-rabies injections have been administered in the district. Doctor Ashraf Ali said that rabies virus is fatal, and it is mandatory to get injection immediately in case of dog, monkey or cat bite, because it is an incurable disease.
Engineer Yuvraj Mehta died due to drowning in a waterlogged plot in Sector-150 of Greater Noida. The responsible authorities have not made security arrangements on the other side of the plot. The State Wetland Authority of Uttar Pradesh government has started the process of gazetting 50 wetlands in nine districts including Barabanki. This is an important step towards wetland conservation in the state. Maximum 12 wetlands are proposed in Barabanki. In Budhanangla village of Bijnor, bullies attacked a villager Pushpendra Kumar, injuring him. It is alleged that later the attackers entered the house and threatened to kill. The victim's 65-year-old mother Angoori Devi died due to the shock of this incident. The police have registered a case of assault and have assured the arrest of the accused, although the family is demanding strict action.
Prayagraj Police has arrested Vinod Kumar Verma, his son Sanskar Verma and Ashutosh Patel in the case of illegal supply of codeine cough syrup.
