The Roorkee Roadways depot is facing an acute shortage of drivers, which has affected bus operations, especially on the Delhi route. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred the January 2026 installment of social security pension to the accounts of more than 9.47 lakh beneficiaries in Uttarakhand through DBT. SIM cards sold from Vikasnagar were used for cyber fraud worth lakhs across the country. Following complaints by the National Crime Reporting Portal, investigation revealed the sale of these SIMs by Sajal Communication. A case has been registered against director Sajal Aggarwal. 18 BSNL SIM cards sold in 2022 were used in fraud. The police are investigating the matter seriously.
A property dealer from Doon was duped of Rs 76.90 lakh by a girl he met on a dating app on the pretext of investing in Forex trading. The girl first made friends, then lured her with profit. An injured Guldar cub was seen late at night on Canal Road in Banbasa. The cub was wandering on the road after being hit by an unknown vehicle, which spread curiosity and panic among the local people. On receiving information, the forest department team rescued him and took him for treatment. The reason for the cub's injury is not yet clear.
