On Sunday, about 150 crows died under suspicious circumstances in the sub-division ground of Navgachia, which created a stir. 61-year-old Nirmal Devi, who had come to Patna's Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport to catch a flight to Mumbai, died due to sudden deterioration in her health. Union Road Transport Ministry MORTH is focusing on those road projects and ROBs of Bihar which have not yet been tendered despite getting approval. There will be a high-level meeting chaired by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, in which several pending projects like Samastipur-Darbhanga ROB, bypass construction under NH 333A, Bhagalpur-Dhaka Mod four-lane road and bridge construction in Arwal will be discussed. Financial approval of these projects and change in construction nature are the main hurdles.

Before the Government Baunsi Fair cum Mandar Mahotsav in Baunsi Banka, the administration took major action against encroachment. A major fraud in paddy procurement has been exposed in Jamui. An application to sell paddy was made in the name of a deceased farmer, Ramdayal Manjhi, showing 3.11 lakh acres of land, which is almost half of the total area of the district. Landless farmers and relatives of the PACS president were also given undue benefit in Lakshmipur block, where 1000 quintals of paddy was shown to be purchased on 3 acres of land.
Two youths died in two separate road accidents in Yogapatti and Sirsia police station areas of Bettiah district. Deepak Dom, a resident of Chanpatia, died in a collision with an unknown vehicle on Lauria-Kaithaliya Road, while Vinay Kumar of Yogapatti lost his life in a bike collision. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are investigating the matter. There is an atmosphere of mourning in both the families.
The Bihar government has declared the Makar Mela to be held in Rajgir from 14 to 20 January as a state fair. DM Kundan Kumar and SP Bharat Soni reviewed the preparations.
